Watch out for rotten acorns

Yesterday, the Acorn Festival started. It's fun picking up the acorns and handing them over to Cornimer but watch out. Make sure that you don't have any rotten acorns in your pocket when you go to see Cornimer. If you even have one in your pocket, Cornimer will take away all your good acorns. He took 10 good acorns from me and didn't give me any mush items.

Just another Sunday but with a little surprise

It's just the usual Sunday, watering plants and looking for Joan to buy some white and red turnips. I can't believe that this week, Joan was selling white turnips for 110 bells. I hope this week, Nook buys them at a high bell price. I need to make some bells!

But what a lovely surprise to see a rainbow after morning showers. I have been playing Animal Crossing since January and I have never seen a rainbow. So pretty!

146 bells for turnips

In the past couple of months, I have been interested in the "stalk market". I have purchased turnips from Joan and kept them on a table in my house until the price was right to sell to Nook. He never buys high, normally he buys for somewhere between 46-68 bells. Today, though he was buying for 146 bells. That's good news but the bad news for me was that I had no turnips to sell. I only had one red turnip in my house and no matter what, Nook buys them for 16,000 bells.

I have learned my lesson. I will continue to buy the white turnips from Joan and just keep them in my house until the next time Nook wants to buy at a high bell price.

On a side note: Acorn Festival starts next Monday...I have no idea what this is. must investigate!

Black Rose

This morning, I found my first black rose. I am pretty sure that black roses are the ones that when it's brown and dry, if you water it with a golden watering can, it turns to a gold rose. I would like to keep it as a black rose but silly me sold my regular watering can. Looks like I need to buy a new one from Nook.

P.S. Am I crazy or are the leaves on the trees a shade darker than normal? Even the grass looks different. Is it a sign of Fall/Autumn and that tanning season is over?

Money trees

I never wanted to plant a money tree because it involves using a lot of your bells and I was obsessed with paying off my mortgage. Now that I have the last expansion to my house, I plan to take my time to pay that 948,000 bell mortgage.

If you have the bells to spare, chop down a tree by your house (chop down a tree = good chance of a tree growing and by your house = you can monitor it closely), and plant some bells. The secret is in the amount of bells you bury. The more you bury, let's say 99,000 bells, you'll have a 99% chance that bells will grow on a tree. If you buried 50,000 bells, you only a 50% chance. I think I tried to grow a money tree when I first started playing but only buried 2000 bells, yikes, that's a 2% chance, no wonder the tree didn't grow any bells.

New Month - September

• I love it when it's the first of the month. We get to fish for new fish and catch new bugs. Sadly, I never caught a tarantula over the summer. This morning when I played with Brody, she caught a salmon and king salmon! She immediately donated it to the museum.
• This Saturday is Flea Market. It's been a while so I hope my characters have some items to sell.
• Tanning season is almost over, we have until September 15th so get out there and tan on the beach when it's a bright sunny day in your town.
• Teffy taught me that you can see whose house you are visiting by looking at the little post outside their house.
• Turnips don't seem to rot after a week if you place them on a table. You can do this by placing your shovel on the floor in front of the table, stand on it and then place your turnip on the table.
